In case there was ever any doubt, it's official Funcom has released a fantastic MMORPG. Despite a few hiccups in early beta, Age of Conan has shaped up to actually deliver on the hype it's recieved leading up to release.

For many MMORPG players this is a ray of hope in a marketplace that has recently been dimmed by a number of under developed or incomplete early releases which failed to deliver on high expectations (Vanguard, Tabula Rasa to name a few).

Even in beta, and even on my circa 1999 machine the game was actually playable - which gives me high hopes for my chances of playing the cleaned up post beta release client.

I'll let you know more as soon as I get a chance to kick the tires some more, but for those cynics out there waiting for a green light - it's game time Go, go, go!!
