Shields & Bucklers

Ranging in form & size from small wrist mounted bucklers to heavy, iron-clad monstrosities, shields are worn in general to deflect melee attacks. Shields are particularly important for defensive fighters who generally find themselves in the heart of the battle taking the brunt of the enemies attacks.

While there are exceptions, because they are heavy and hard to manage, shields are typically reserved for tanks and other heavy melee combatants.
